Eggs Up Grill Continues to Expand in the Sunshine State with Recent Tampa, FL Signing

A team of three new franchisees have signed on to bring the emerging breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant to their local community.

Since its founding in 1997 in Pawleys Island, Eggs Up Grill has made a name for itself serving up smiles from sunup through lunch, across the Southeast. The growing brand has continued to gain momentum with its most recent signing in the Tampa, FL.  Combined with a 3-restaurant deal in Ocala, Florida with a Zaxby’s multi-unit franchisee, Eggs Up Grill sees the Sunshine State ripe for expansion thanks in part to the brand’s great-tasting, All-American breakfast, brunch and lunch menu and the community-centric approach of its franchisees.

Eggs Up Grill’s newest franchisees husband and wife duo, Priscilla and John Conyers and friend and business partner Angela Perry were drawn to the culture of Eggs Up Grill, and the brand’s core values of great food, friendly service and community involvement.

“The concept is something unique for the community and we saw it as the perfect opportunity,” said Priscilla. “Our values align well with the brand, and it’s an ideal investment for us as well as for the Tampa market.”

The Conyers were former owners of the Cotton Candy Palace in Tampa, a gourmet cotton candy concept before coming across the opportunity to franchise with Eggs Up Grill. When it came to identifying franchise opportunities, Priscilla said that they did as much research as possible before making a decision to franchise with Eggs Up Grill.

“We visited the closest location to us in Albany, Georgia and immediately fell in love with the concept,” said Priscilla. “After meeting everyone on the brand team, we realized that our views and values aligned perfectly. We were also drawn to the level of support provided by the leadership team, which was a key component and deciding factor for us.”

Priscilla and Angela met in pharmacy school at Florida A&M University and became close friends as well as sorority sisters; a bond which would eventually become the foundation for their friendship and business partnership. Today, they both work as pharmacists at hospitals in the area and are also active members in their community, regularly volunteering at their local homeless shelter and other local charities.

Priscilla’s husband John’s first job was working at a small restaurant before working as the manager at Cinnabon during high school. He is also a veteran who spent the last 15 years working as a firefighter.

The new Eggs Up Grill franchisees are already dreaming big when it comes to community involvement and are looking to actively participate in Eggs Up Grill community support activities like rewarding local ‘Teacher of the Month’ winners and sponsoring initiatives like, ‘Coffee with a Cop’ and ‘Breakfast with Firefighters.’

“Eggs Up Grill is all about real food, real people, and real good service,” said Priscilla. “As such involved members of our community, we’re all about the concept of neighbors serving neighbors, which is what really drew us into the brand. From the moment you walk into an Eggs Up Grill, you feel like you’re at grandma’s house. That’s the kind of comfort and service we wanted to bring to the Tampa Bay area.”

Priscilla is excited to get the first Eggs Up Grill location up and running, which is set to open in early summer 2020 and noted that they aspire to eventually be multi-unit franchisees within the Tampa Bay and Riverview areas.

Eggs Up Grill is on-track to open 15 – 18 new locations in 2020, after an impressively strong 2019 as it continues to expand throughout the Southeastern U.S., propelled by its franchisee-friendly business model, operating hours from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., excellent third party validation and reviews, exceptional support from the leadership team and a proven business model with strong returns, among its many key attributes.
