The restaurant, known for its great-tasting, freshly prepared meals, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere, is located at 101 Canoy Lane, formally 4 Paw American Pub, in Tillman Village. This is the first of five Eggs Up Grills for Franchise Partners Darby Smith and Jackson Turner. Darby Smith and Jackson Turner are ready to spread smiles in Clemson. Smith and Turner are childhood friends and both have extensive backgrounds in the restaurant industry. Turner is a Clemson native and is the co-owner of First Sun Management with his father. For the last 35 years, the franchising company has owned and operated 19 Wendy’s restaurants in South Carolina and Georgia. Smith most recently served as the co-owner of three Henry’s Smokehouse Barbecue and Catering restaurants in Greenville, S.C. He is a Clemson graduate and will operate the new restaurant. “We have dreamed of going into the restaurant business together for years,” said Smith. “We’ve both dined at Eggs Up Grill many times and we were always impressed with the quality of food and consistently great service.” The Clemson restaurant will feature the brand’s newest kitchen innovation which includes a streamlined design and the addition of fryers, allowing Eggs Up Grill to expand its menu offerings. Turner says that breakfast is a growing daypart, and that they are glad to invest in a brand that is the best in the business. “It’s truly a brand that aligns with our family values,” he added. The partners are especially excited to be opening just two miles from Clemson University, in the heart of off-campus living where they will welcome football fans on game weekends. The duo is targeting Easley, Seneca, and Greenwood for future locations. With seating for 136, plus an outdoor patio for dining for up to 36, the 2,600 square-foot restaurant will be designed to make guests feel at home in a light, bright and cheery atmosphere. Whether dining at the counter feeling the energy from the kitchen, at a table shared with neighbors and friends, outside on the patio or in a cozy booth, guests can choose seating options to suit the perfect occasion or mood. The walls will feature artwork specifically designed for Eggs Up Grill that pays homage to its namesake, the Egg. The Clemson restaurant will serve guests seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. with dine-in, online ordering, takeout, catering, and delivery options available. A convenient to-go station will allow for easy pick-up for online orders and third-party delivery. Eggs Up Grill will also cater events big or small, with a menu featuring breakfast favorites like eggs, grits, home fries, biscuits and gravy and muffins.
